Name that Thief.

My business was broken into last week by two young, moronic men. They took with them four laptops and our two iMac’s. We have the crime on tape, but weren’t able to capture a high res. image. Amazingly, one of the thieves (or at least the new owner of our hot machines) was using photobooth and unknowingly uploaded a photo of himself to our flickr stream.

If you know this guy, or recognize the tatto artist (another angle here (thanks!)), please let me know. Also feel free to re-blog this image.

[update] To answer a few questions that have come up in the comments…

a. The  thief is using an access card, and we were able to track it back to one of our former members…but he wasn’t one of the two thieves.  The card could have been passed on intentionally or lost, we’re not really sure on that point.  The member in question has an overdue account and we haven’t be able to contact him.  Any cards have now been deactivated.

b. The video that was posted is of the second entry, there was of course a first…for those of you that were keen enough to recognize the discrepancy between the photos and the video.  We do have the first entry on tape, but haven’t placed it online.

  15. Alicia says:

Please post vid of morons breaking and entering and stealing computers. Otherwise, all we have is some internet blogging claiming the tattooed man is a thief.

I’m not saying that I disbelieve the claim, just that I would insist on evidence validating the claim before I start a lynch mob.

  16. Alicia says:

    “blogger”

  17. Alicia says:

If he turns out to not be the thief, he has you dead to rights for slander.

Post the video of said man breaking and entering. If you can’t do that, I call slander and defamation of character.

I am so tired of stupid people.

  18. Victoria says:

Wow. What a moron. I blogged about this one as well.

  20. Evan says:

It doesn’t matter. He is in possession of stolen property which is still a crime. So even if he was not the thief, he is still breaking the law and could lead to the actual thieves.

  28. Have you got more webcam photos? With a good photo editor like The GIMP you can make the background lighter, identifying anything that may be there. The guy seems to be sitting in front of a blank wall, but there are some small objects at the bottom of the picture, behind the man, that I cannot quite make out from one photo.

Your best shot of course are the tats. Just let the police visit all Vancouver tattoo shops with a print of this photo.

  29. Hey there says:

  31. Sean says:

Alicia hates stupid people, how ironic… when she herself doesn’t consider the video and keeps running her stupid mouth. So much noise on the Internet would be averted if only parents would install software to keep foolish children like Alicia off the computer before they get home from work.

  33. D says:

Not many people have an “Alien” tatoo on their left shoulder/upper arm (because Aliens, as an icon, suck). Maybe the police might be able to help you with this one… or you could always have a PI look into the matter for you.
