Speaking to Facebook, they: “The extension is now mostly in place and the walls have been closed in, revealing some of the new spaces inside for the first time, including the new community hall on the first floor. New red bricks will soon be built, connecting the extension to the existing building.

“At the very top of the cinema, the sloping parapet above the facade has been taken down and rebuilt with new structural ties, making it nice and vertical (and safe!). And parts of the historic masonry around the building have been repointed, along with other stone repairs in progress.

“The basement cinema is also progressing well and we will soon start to see our new second screen take shape. At this point the construction seems relatively straightforward, but this has been one of the most complicated parts of the project so far, not only due to the extensive excavation that has been required in such a confined site, but due to because of an ingenious box. a-box engineering solution which was designed by @buro_happold & @pageparkarchitects to prevent any sound from passing between this new screen and the existing screen above.
