Perini Management Services, Inc. Wins $44.1 Million Renovation Contract at San Juan Custom House


FRAMINGHAM, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC) (the “Company”), a leading civil engineering, building and specialty construction company, today announced that its subsidiary, Perini Management Services , Inc., has been awarded a fixed price order contract by U.S. Customs and Border Protection worth approximately $44.1 million to repair San Juan Customs in Puerto Rico .

San Juan Customs House, built in 1924, is a Spanish Colonial Revival style building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Architecturally, it is one of the most distinguished customs houses in the country. The exterior and interior terracotta ornamentation is particularly remarkable.

The two-year project includes the complete renovation and restoration of the historic 2-storey building. The scope of the project includes exterior facade repair and restoration (including terra cotta), interior concrete structural repairs, interior building renovation, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, communications, fire protection, as well as site restoration and improvements. All renovations will follow strict guidelines regarding the preservation of historic fabric for this project.

This task order falls under the National Homeland Security II (NMACC II) Multi-Award Construction Contract. The value of the contract will be included in the company’s backlog in the first quarter of 2021.
