As they say, don’t move, improve. We’re all in favor of affordable home improvement tips that can add value to existing space and give our homes a bit more character.

At one point or another most of us have felt the urge to look around the house and not feel happy with the current decor or maybe the wall color you once loved just doesn’t seem right. not as fresh as she was.

Whatever the reasons, you will start to feel the need to update your homes with the latest interior trends going on.

Luckily, there are plenty of interior hacks you can apply that will make a big difference while costing little time and also being easy on your pocket.

Replace your old hardware

Whether it’s a kitchen under-cabinet or a bathroom vanity, just change the hardware to make your space livelier and chicer. Choose hardware from the same style family for cabinets. Opt for brass or black fittings, depending on the existing color of the cabinets. You can add patterned ceramic knobs instead of standard knobs, or you can add different layered metals to create visual interest.

Reuse your existing furniture

Do you also have old furniture that no one knows what to do with? With a little sanding, a fresh coat of paint, and a little upholstery work, it can look as good as a fresh piece bought off the market. Turn your existing chest of drawers into a statement piece or a bathroom vanity. Use old drawers or shelves to create a coffee table or trays. And if you’re an avid DIYer, turn your old headboard into a storage bench.

Update your vintage sofa or old headboard with a funky new fabric upholstery. Or breathe new life into a sentimental piece of furniture, for example by changing the glass table top or repainting the table legs.

Give your doors a break

Enhance the entrance to your homes by giving your front door a unique color. Choose the color that best suits your exteriors and landscaping. Or ditch your traditional interior doors for sliding barn doors, which will leave an everlasting impression on your space. Feel free to go overboard with colors, patterns and textures.

A new look at the kitchen

Change the kitchen backsplash to something more fun. With options like tile, glass, stone, and ceramic, there are plenty of opportunities to experiment with the material and opt for one that fits your budget. Another option is to paint the shutters with a contrasting backsplash which gives an almost flawless finish to your kitchen. You can even change your countertop by laminating it, which is usually the cheapest but seems like an expensive material.

Ditch the paint for the wallpaper

If you don’t want to bother painting your whole house, the easiest solution is to go with wallpaper. Make a wall a centerpiece with a stunning wallpaper to match your overall home décor. Consider adding bold wallpaper like florals, palm leaves and geometric patterns to a desk or opt for prints or neutral colors for subtle areas. Renew the flooring with a paint finish, while doing the walls to give the space a more finished look.
